Welcome to Birdland!
Who would have thought that with the announcement of the new, yet retro Orioles logo that they
would return former glory days of the immortal Cal Ripken, Jr? So far the O’s have the best record in
best record Major League Baseball. Although it’s still early in the season ,the O’s are putting the fans in
the seats. For years loyal and dedicated fans have cheered and jeered as the Orioles have won and lost –
some close and but usually far and away from the level of play from other teams in the AL east.
With real rumors of the Peter Angelos wanting to sell the team, the Orioles are showing their worth. With a sweep over the Red Sox in Boston and other notable wins, the O’s are making covert and even diehard fans wanting more. Quite frankly, this Oriole fan (for years past and many to come) is impressed. Seeing today’s Orioles win bring backs memories of the good old days, remembering the 96′ season
and the likes of Brady Anderson, Cal Ripken Jr., BJ Surhoff, Roberto Alomar, Rafael Palmerio, and Mike Mussina. The spirit of the those players have inspired the new age Orioles like Adam Jones and Nick Markakis with the drive and determination to win and hopefully keep winning.
