Do you like fun? Well, do I have an idea for you… From November 2nd-9th, the Third Annual Charm City Fringe Theatre & Performing Arts Festival will take over the Baltimore neighborhoods of Station North, Mt. Vernon, and Hampden. The Fringe Festival serves as a celebration of unconventional theatre, which may not have a chance to shine at larger, higher-priced venues. As a non-profit entity, Charm City Fringe is entirely committed to its artists, and the proliferation of great theatre. In order to help the artists grow and spread their work, 100% of ticket sales go straight to the people who create and perform the shows we love so much.
Throughout the week, performances are scheduled to take place at Baltimore Theatre Project, Station North Chicken Box, Church & Company, The Mercury Theater, and The Great Hall Theatre at St. Mary’s. Whether you’re a fan of dance, Shakespeare, one-person shows, multimedia, improv, or anything else you can think of, Fringe certainly has something that you will enjoy. Performances vary greatly in theme and content but they all have one thing in common; passionate artists striving to bring their craft to a larger audience at an affordable price.
In addition to the scheduled theatre performances, the Fringe Fest will also feature comedy shows by local troupes Wham City Comedy, and Chucklestorm. As if that wasn’t enough, Fringe is also hosting after-parties at partner establishments Liam Flynn’s Ale House, Joe Squared, and Golden West that will feature live music performances, and wonderful drink specials. Included among this year’s beverage choices will be a special, limited-edition Fringe beer crafted by Baltimore beer savants The Brewer’s Art. And if you find yourself craving a bite to eat during the festival, food trucks such as Kommie Pig, Four Brothers, and Pizza di Joey will be stationed outside Fringe venues during the week.
